How Does A Water Softener Work?
What are the many types of water softener?
Not All So Called Softeners, Soften Water
To experience the benefits of soft water in your home, Cooking, Cleaning, Showering, Bathing, and Drinking, the hardness minerals have to be removed from the water.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF SOFTENING
A water sofener removes hardness by a process called ion-exchange. This process removes the hardness from the water and discharges it to the drain replacing it with sodium or potassium. Fake softeners, characterized by no salt, no drain hookup or control valve, do not remove hardness. They reduce the scaling in your water heater and pipes but you still have all the same cleaning problems.
HOW THE SOFTENER WORKS
Your water source may vary. Town water sources could be river water, reservoir water, or well water. If not on town water you have a Private Well. In all types there is hardness.
The Purasoft Softener removes hardness only.
