How Does A Reverse Osmosis Work?

WHY CHOOSE A REVERSE OSMOSIS

Reverse osmosis, commonly called RO, is a water treatment process in which water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane that removes impurities, contaminants, and dissolved solids. RO systems are highly effective at producing clean, great-tasting water by reducing substances such as hardness, chlorine, lead, salt from a softener, and total dissolved solids (TDS). RO systems provide good water only from the special faucet at your kitchen sink and are a practical substitute for not having a Puramax whole house purifier.

Reverse Osmosis and Softeners

If you don’t have a Whole House Purifier, or have only a Softener, an RO is a must have solution.  Regular maintenance, including membrane replacement, ensures that RO systems continue to deliver optimal contaminant removal and cleaner, safer water for drinking, cooking, and other household needs.

How Does Reverse Osmosis Works?

Reverse osmosis technology relies on house water pressure to push the water molecules through the plastic semi permeable membrane rejecting large substances and saving 90- 95% clean water into a small pressure tank. The waste water is usually 6 gallons to the drain and 1 gallon saved to the pressure tank. The pressure tank hold around 1.5 – 2 gallons of water and takes about 2 hours to fill the tank once emptied.

Benefits Of Having An Expert Water Test

Water can have a variety of unique water problems such as the pH being too high or too low, high Iron levels, high manganese, high bacteria levels, very high Radon, Gross Alpha, etc. requiring specific filters that treat unique problems. A Purasoft expert will make the appropriate suggestions to fix the problem and makes it safe to drink.
